British and Austrian officers asked Greek admiral Miaulis to spare live of European on board of the captured Ottoman transports 5 November 1824

Frankfurt, Germany, 31 October. After the sea battle dated 12 September sighted by the captains of a British and of an Austrian frigate, both commanding officers went on board by the Greek admiral Miaulis asked him to spare the life of the Europeans on board of the captured transports and sent them to the senate of Napoli. Their ships and the properties of the Turkish were to be seized by him. Miaulus was willing to spare the life their life despite the fact they ‘choose’ the Turkish side.
