Russian naval officer Vekman according to a report from the Military Observer at Riga, Latvia dated 22 July 1921

The information was received from the Latvian General Staff and considered to be reliable. In fact few was known dealing with the personnel of the Central Institutions except that the majority in authority were former naval officers already officers prior to the First World War. The descriptions of the officers were supplied by a former high officer of the Imperial Russian Navy which now stayed in Latvia. Former senior lieutenant. “Commander of the Ladoga Lake Flotilla (April 1921); fair as an officer; few abilities.”

The Russian Caspian Flotilla in 1924

The Commissioner of the United States at Riga, Latvia wrote on 21 May 1924 to the Secretary of State at Washington that the Russian Caspian Flotilla consisted of 4 gunboats, 11 torpedo boats old type called Storezhevoi, 5 trawlers and 2 submarines. Further more were 4 guard boats transferred from Lake Ladoga via the Baltic. The staff of the flotilla moved from Baku to Petrovsk.

Russian Far East Flotilla to be strenghtned with guard ships in 1924

The Commissioner of the United States at Riga, Latvia wrote on 21 May 1924 to the Secretary of State at Washington that it was proposed to add some guard ships of the Russian Baltic Fleet to the Flotilla of the Far East. It were principally old torpedo boats and guardships serving on the Lake Ladoga if able to undertake the necessary sea voyage. Further more were 6 new gaurd ships to be built to be completed in 1926.

German so-called Siebel ferry Lahdenpohja, Lake Ladoga dated 13 August 1942

Of the German naval detachment Einsatzstab Fähre Ost (EFO) which was operated by the German Luftwaffe. The detachment was active on Lake Ladoga supporting Axis troops in the siege of Leningrad, Russia.

Russian destroyer Sibirskiy Strelok 1905-1926 (Konstruktor 1926-1956, OT-29 1956-1957)

Part of Okhotnik-class. Served in the Baltic Fleet. Laid down by Aktiebolaget Sandvikens Skeppsdocka och Mekaniska Verkstad, Helsingfors [Helsinki, Finland] in 1905, launched in 1906, classified as torpedo cruiser until 1907, commissioned in 1907, test ship since 1925, renamed Konstruktor in 1926, also used as leader of minesweepers flotilla, guard ship of the Ladoga Lake flotilla between 3 August 1941-14 March 1943, test ship again since 3 January 1945, heating centrale and renamed OT-29 on 10 July 1956, and decided to be broken up on 1 June 1957.
