Alicante, 17 September. On 7 September passed this harbour the Spanish warship el St. Juan Baptista and two frigates taking with them a pink of Genoa which was recaptured by the frigate la Santa Monica from the Algerians. The same day arrived in this harbour the Naepolitan 60-guns warship Il S. Joachino escorting 9 ships loaded with corn and hemp destined for Carthagena to which port they departed 11 September. The French 34-gun frigate l’Aurore arrived 7 September in this harbour escorting 31 ships of which some came from Martinique and Guadeloupe loaded with coffee, sugar and other stores. The next day departed this convoy towards Marseille.
