The Dutch minister of marine [=navy] announced 6 October that according to the Danish Navy Department in the channel off the island Loesoe a lightship was stationed at the position 57°12’45” North latitude and 10°41’45” Eastern longitude. The ship was schooner rigged with red coloured sides on which was a white cross painted and fitted out with a light equipment of nine lamps placed in the aft mast 30 feet above the water level. The light could be sighted from a distance of 2-2½ miles between 30 minutes after sunset until sunrise.
