Prussian ship Prinsess Louise arrived back at Hamburg, Germany according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 8 July 1844

According to newspapers of Hamburg, Germany arrived in the end of June the Prinsess Louise of the royal sea trade company returning from her sixth voyage around the world.(1) On board was a valuable cargo coming directly from Canton, China. She left 24 November 1843 the Elbe loaded with a cargo of German products and visited Brazil, harbours on the West coast of South and North America and the Philippines and sailed in 94 days from Canton to the Channel.

1. Built in 1823-1824 by Sager at Vegesack (launched 23 August 1824), a so-called full rigged ship or bark ship of 393 register tons or 140 Commerz lasten bought from the Business House F.&E. Delius of Bremen, Germany. A good 3mast ship with good sailing performances. In 1846 sold to the ship owner J. Marbs of Hamburg and in 1855 sold to Norway. Dimensions 28,90 x 8,38 x 5,06meter (hold) according to a measurement letter dated 20 October 1824. According to a measurement in 1846 were her dimensions 30,43 (over deck between the prows) x 7,84 (between frames) x 5,64 meter (depth of hold at main hatch) with a cargo capacity of 300-400 register tons or a capacity of 400-500 tons x 1.000 kilo. She was armed with 5-9pdrs and 6-6pdrs according to another source with 12 guns. Her crew numbered 22-31 men.
