The commandant of the auxiliary cruiser Terek demanded an enormous amount of coal which however were not delivered caused by the unwilling collies of Tandjong Priok to do so. Her commandant was asked to depart with the 400 ton coal already loaded on board and to respect the neutrality of the Netherlands. He however refused this while he shouldn’t be able to arrive at Djibouti. The journalist did nott agreed with him while Sabang and Pointe de Galle also would allow to stop for another 24 hours. According to the same journalist was perhaps the possibility of meeting a Japanese warship the real reason why the Russian commandant wanted to stay. The result was that the Terek was to be interned and disarmed under supervision of the Russian consul and anchored in the harbour with a guard on board. Her crew was to stay on board a decision which received with enthusiasm and a loudly hurrah. The German sailors of the Prinses Marie (1)departed the same day with the La Seyne towards Singapore. Perhaps there was now a possibility to bring the 50 men of the Rion now at Senen also on board of the Terek. This ship was large enough and with as result that just one place was to guard.
