Smyrna, 21 October. The Greek fleet with a strength of 40 ships was crossing in the waters between Cerigo and Cape Mulee waiting for the Egyptian-Turkish fleet which left Alexandria. The Greek admiral Miaulis left 8 ships behind at Missolunghi to protect that position. The American fleet sailed towards Tunis to demand satisfaction for the treatment of a ship flying the American flag.
London, 18 November, The Greek brig of war Cymone commanded by captain Miaulis son of the admiral is in the night of the 10th wrecked off the coast of the island Alderney. The complete crew of 57 men was saved. The newspapers of New York reported an expedition which was prepared with an unknown destination and in which the complete Colombian navy was used. Two ships already arrived at Carthagena and 5 others were expected.

While Greece still had no real government refused Austrian masters to recognise the blockade of the coasts of Epirus and the Gulf of Lepante but were unable to use any force due to the Greek superior power. The Greek lord upper commissary of Corfu ordered the captains/masters of England to accept the blockade.
