The Dutch and Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 27 June 1827

Frankfurt, 22 June. The newspaper Osservatore Triestino dated 14 June reported that Thursday 10 June the Turkish fleet was sighted between Capo d’Oro and Andros numbering 23 ships. If she was destined for Athens she could have caused large problems at sea and at land, but instead she sailed eastwards towards Zea and it’s was thought destined towards Suda (=island Candia).

Amsterdam, 25 June. At Texel arrived 22 June the Dutch warship Zr.Ms. Holland (1) commanded by Captain P. de Lange returning from the Mediterranean.
