The Egyptian and Russian navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 5 May 1829

According to tidings from Ancona dated 15 April intended the Russian admiral Van Heiden to blockade Alexandria just like the Dardanelles but didn’t do that after have spoken met de British admiral. Mr. Malcolm persuaded him the Egyptian vessels recently seized in the waters of Candia to declare being prizes but wait for specified Imperial orders. These ships were in the meantime send to Greek harbours. At Egina arrived 20 February a corvette and the 15th a brig at Poros.
