French corvette la Mouche captured American merchant ships according to the Dutch newspaper Ommelander Courant dated 26 July 1799

Cadiz, 28 June. The French corvette Lamouche master Nicolas Défes arrived after a voyage of 13 days coming from Bordeaux taking with her two American merchant ships captured when they left Lisbon.(1) One was loaded with 17 boxes of silver with a value of 51,000 piasters destined for Bengal and while the other had a cargo valued 42,000 piasters destined for Batavia, Dutch East Indies.
