The Greek and the Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 1 July 1824

Trieste, 14 June. The Capudan Pasha landed with 3.000 Janitsars at Orco, Negroponte but was driven back by a Greek force. Some Turkish ships sailed in to the Gulf of Volo where the inhabitants were armed to prevent a landing. The Turkish squadron was off the island Seledromi while the Greek were near Skyro.
