I can’t find yet much details dealing with this vessel. Jane’s Fighting Ships 1944/1945 supplied the following details. The former Weichsel built in 1918 by J.W. Klawitter at Danzig. With a displacement of 600 tons were her dimensions 126¼’x 23½’ x 13½’. The triple expansion engine allowed a speed of 10 knots. This information is confirmed by an earlier edition of Jane’s namely the one for 1931. She is then mentioned as part of the Latvian navy. Her displacement is then indicates as 285 ton gross. Conway’s All the world fighting ships 1922-1946 says that she formerly belonged to the Latvian navy as the survey ship Hidrografs. All Latvian warships were in August 1940 transferred to the Soviet Baltic Fleet.
