Part of the Kobben-class based on the German T 205. The Kobben class or Type 207 is a version of the German Type 205 and suitable for coastal service. The Kobben and her sister ships were all built by the Rheinstahl Nordseewerke GmbH in Emden. The Kobben was commissioned 15 August 1964 and finally transferred to Poland in 2002 for spare parts. Poland had bought some of her sister ships like the Kunna and Stord. She was mentioned in Tom Clancy's 1986 novel
Red Storm Rising when she destroyed some Russian warships.
