American naval shipbuilding program according to the Dutch newspaper De Sumatra Post dated 10 February 1934

Washington, 9 February. The American Senate approved the naval bill supplying 284.000.000 dollar of which 33.500.000 dollars were used for building new ships including mother plane ships and 4 cruisers. The bill was returned to the House of Representatives to consider some small changes.
