British navy experimenting with new kind of engines according to the Dutch newspaper Het Nieuws van de Dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 25 August 1910

Since two years was the British Admiralty experimenting with new engines and to improve parts of these engines. Her intention was to fit first small cruisers with the new method of propulsion before using it for a battleship.
