Of the Dolphin-class consisting of the Dolphin delivered in May 1998, commissioned in 1999), Leviathan (delivered in 1999, commissioned in 2000), Tekamah (delivered in 2000, Commissioned in 2000) and the AIP Dolphin 2 class Tanin (delivered on 23 September 2014), Rahav (delivered on 29 April 2013) and Daar (bulding ordered on 21 March 2012), preceded by the Gal class and built at the Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW), Kiel, Germany. The building was approved in July of the budget year 1989, building ordered in January 1990, in November 1999 was order redrawn while the budget was needed for other purposes. The armament consists of 6-53,3cm/21” and 4-65cm/26” torpedo tubes.
