As a result of the coming meeting of the Japanese Diet were detailed explanations expected from the minister of war general Soegijama and the minister of marine admiral Jonai (1) dealing with the strategic cooperation between navy and army. According to the newspaper Kokoemin Sjimboen would the admiral also discuss the deep worry from Japan dealing with the large naval programs to be execute by other major naval powers and the strength of the navies of the United Kingdom, the USA and the Soviet Union in the Pacific. The newspaper expected that the admiral would announce that Japan would continue her non aggressive naval policy and to increase her naval strength to secure the Japanese economic and independent status as stabilizing power in East Asia.
