Keel laid down of steam boat Stad Vlissingen at Middelburg, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Courant dated 1 April 1842

Middelburg, 28 March. At the yard of the Commercie Compagnie is the keel laid down of the steamboat Stad Vlissingen for service on the regular line Flushing-Antwerp, Belgium. The engines are delivered by the plant owned by Paul van Vlissingen and Dudol van Heel at Amsterdam. The indentation is to start at the end of September with the line.
