Movements of the Greeks and Turkish navies according to the Dutch newspaper Goessche Courant dated 19 October 1821

At Zante arrived the tiding that the Greeks attacked the Turkish squadron, burning or capturing 6 transports, while the Turkish fleet stayed in the Channel of Scios fearing the Greeks, which had more than 50 ships, each manned with around 200 men.
