Letters dated 28 June and 4 July from this post arrived with inland vessels. The Phoenix and the sloop Kruiser arrived safely in Batjan Strait. The sloop Clara however lost her way and nothing was heard of despite lacking news dealing with heavy weather. At Menado was 95 last rice bought to transport by the hooker Snuffelaar towards Batavia. This hooker had to be repaired. The sloop Uitgeleide Amboina was sent 3 June with a request for sailors. The sloop Nieuwe Promotie was sent to Kema to change rice for textile. When the Phoenix returned to Batavia she transported 1743 reaal gold-dust, 353 lb ‘karet’, 45 lb pearl-shells and 92 sokkels mace.
