The navy of Venezuela according to the Dutch newspaper Amigoe di Curacao dated 5 December 1908

This newspaper republished details earlier published in the newspaper De Nieuwe Courant and which were dealing with the armed forces of Venezuela. The navy consisted of 1 destroyer of 571 tons with 6-5,7cm quick firing guns, 1 gunboat of 200 tons with 2 similar guns, 1 torpedo boats and some transport and customs service vessels. The Dutch newspapers both agreed that Venezuela was a real opponent to worry about and that a Dutch squadron of 10 warships and 10 torpedo boats easily could solve the existing problems between both countries.
