Turkish and Swedish merchant ships wrecked in the Bay of Spezzia according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 6 April 1818

Genoa, 14 March. Due to heavy weather on 8 March were two ships in the Bay of Spezzia wrecked. One was a Turkish polacre coming from Alexandria and of which crew of 20 men just 11 survived. Her master died when they reached the coast. The other ship, the Swedish brig Ernest was grounded in the sand but her crew of 11 men was rescued.
