Assurance premiums still increasing caused by threat of privateers according to the Dutch newspaper Arnhemsche Courant dated 16 March 1841

In an item published in the newspaper Précurseur dated Brussel 13 March was apparently a letter published from an assuror of London dated 11 March who wrote that the political thermometer again was rising and the assurance premiums for sea threats excluded the risks for capture by privateers while destined towards the USA and just by paying a double premium were some British ships destined towards Canada assured for all risks.
