Her building at the yard of Swan Hunter, Wallsend was ordered on 19 December 2000, laid down on 1 October 2001, launched on 26 August 2005, in 2006 completed by /BAE Systems, Glovan, Glasgow and commissioned on 8 August 2007. Can carry 356 troops and 1,200 linear meters of vehicles. Apparently was for her design the Dutch Hr.Ms. Rotterdam used. With as displacement of 16,190 tonnes/15,934 long tons (full load) and dimensions 176,6 x 26,4 x 5,1 metres. Speed 18 knots and with a speed of 15 knots a range of 8,000 nautical miles.
