An item reported that at the end of 1950 the Royal Netherlands Navy would end her activities in Indonesia (former Dutch East Indies) except that between 800-1,000 naval personnel was to join the department navy of the Dutch military mission in Indonesia. Authorities however announced that the cooperation between the Dutch and the Indonesian navies as decided during the Round Table conference was not to be executed.
Another newspaper Limburgsch Dagblad dated 16 June confirmed this item adding that the families of the naval personnel in at hat moment serving in Indonesia was to return before October to the Netherlands. At that moment were all ready continuous men and their families returning. For a final decision in this matter was to wait for the return of the under secretary of navy Moorman who was at that moment at Surabaya, Indonesia.
