French harbours at Cherbourg offered shelter for 100 ships of the line according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 26 July 1858

This edition referred to an item a day before published reporting that the harbours at Cherbourg could supply shelter for 80 ships of the line. This was a normal figure. The harbour board claimed that if necessary there was even space for 100 ships of the line.
