American naval program according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated 5 January 1940

An item reported that the American department of navy intended to buy in 1940 224 new planes and further more to lay down two battleships, an aircraft mother ship, two cruisers, two destroyers, six submarines and five auxiliary ships.
