Japan and USA discussing the needed Japanese military strength according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws dated 27 March 1952

An item reported that the American brigade general Watson of the American headquarters at Tokyo asked the Japanese minister of state Ohasji to increase the military and police strength of Japan. In the meantime asked the Japanese senate the USA to provide sixty warships for the Japanese coastal defence. Japan asked for 10-1,500 tons destroyers and 250-250 tons patrol boats.
