British and American naval air forces compared according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 23 December 1929

An item dated Washington 21 December reported that although London claimed that the air force of the US Navy was much stronger as the British counterpart the Aeronautical Office denied this. Yes the US navy had more planes which was useless lacking enough flight deck area. England possessed six carriers with a total tonnage against the three of the USA with a total tonnage of 79,000 tons.
