An item reported that at St. Petersburg, Russia a company was founded for shipbuilding and merchant trade towards America. The intention was to found four large yards along the northern coast securing that within the first coming five years at least 30 sailing ships of 500-2,000 tons and two American clippers of at least 2,000 tons were to be build and to maintain a regular trade and mail line between Archangelsk, Kronstadt and Liban. The crews were to consist entirely of Russians.
