British navy transport Assistance bound for the Mediterranean according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 12 October 1880

An item reported that the navy transport Assistance was to have leave Portsmouth on Saturday morning towards the Mediterranean. Her departure was delayed while she was ordered to load 50 tons of ammunition and 54 guns destined for the Mediterranean squadron.(1)

1. Probably the iron screw steam store ship HMS Assistance launched in 1874 and finally broken up in 1897.
