French troop transport Cormoran supported by German cruiser Kaiser according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 15 June 1895

An item reported that on 25 May at the Red Sea the German cruiser Kaiser met the French transport Cormoran with troops on board destined fro Madagascar. The Cormoran asked to be towed to Aden which was four days steaming away while she was suffering from engine problems. The German engineers however managed to repair her engines make it possible to continue her voyage without towing.
