German merchant ships transferred to Portugal according to the Dutch newspaper Dagblad van het Zuiden dated Saturday 22 May 1943

An item dated Lisbon 21 May reported that since one day former German ships now Portuguese flagged were. The Portuguese merchant navy purchased these ships while lying in Portuguese African harbours. Furthermore was a former Swedish training ship of about 300 tons purchased and which arrived last Monday at Lisbon. A ship owner at Oporto was negotiating in buying a Brazilian merchant ship.
