Russian merchant ships build with American Marshall subsidy in Europe according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwsblad van het Noorden dated 28 August 1951

An item reported that the American Union for navy personnel and shipbuilders protested by president Truman against the fact the 42 Russian merchant ships were build in European harbours with construction programmes subsidized with the Marshall plan. This plan allowed Dutch, Belgian an Italian shipyards to contend with American yards. As a result were in Germany and Japan more ships build as in the USA.
