British steamship Great Eastern again in service according to the Dutch newspaper Zierikzeesche Nieuwsbode dated 29 May 1886

An item reported that the Great Eastern a time ago was sold for 524.000 mark despite her enormous dimensions. After a non-service period of 12 years left she Medford for Liverpool and luckily arrived without problems. Before she was used as a transport for which all her engines were to be renewed was she during one year used for other purposes. In one space earlier used to store the telegraph cable came a show with horses and in one of her saloons a menagerie while on deck stores of all kind could be sold or bought.
