American frigate ship Dashaway bound for New York, USA according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 29 July 1860

An announcement reported that the American frigate ship Dashaway captain J.M. Hill was to depart Rotterdam on 5 August towards New York. For more details could be asked at Wambersie&Zoon.(1)

1.O.T. Howe and F.C. Matthews mentioned in American clippers 1833-1858 a Dashaway built in 1854 at the shipyard of J. Rideout, Hallowell, Me., with a measurement of 1.012 tons and as dimensions 177’ x 35’x 23’. She was owned by Read, Page&Co., Hallowell which sold her in 1863 and when she became as the Mauritius Merchant British-flagged.
