American submarine chaser USS PC 451 1939-1947

 
Experimental design with as sister ship the PC 452 of the Expeimental Small Craft program dating from 17 May 1938. She was laid down with hull number 166 on 28 September 1939 at the shipyard of Defoe Boat&Motor Works, Bay City as a X-boat, launched on 23 May 1940, commissioned on 12 August the same year, decommissioned on 2 December 1945 and in January 1947 handed over to the Maritime Commission. What with her happened afterwards is not known. Steel built. With a displacement 374 tons were her dimensions 163’x 20’9”. Her crew numbered 65 men. She could be armed with 2-3”guns.
