An item reported that the Turkish cabinet ordered the building of two torpedo boats and two submarines by a consortium of Italian shipyards represented by the Banca Commerciale Italiana. Costs were 14.000.000 Turkish pounds and the consortium supplied a credit for six years. A Dutch shipyard had also been interested in obtaining the order.
