British HMS boom defence vessel Moorhen 1943-1970

Of the so-called ‘Moor’ class with as sister ship Moorburn, Moorcock, Moordale, Mooress, Moorfield, Moorfire, Moorfly, Moorfowl, Moorgrass, Moorgrieve, Moorhill, Moorland, Moormyrtle, Moorpout, Moorside and Moorsman. These ships were built in the period 1938-1946 with varying characteristics but around 1,000 (standard)-1,510 (full load) tons and as dimensions 196 x 30 x 10 feet and engines which supplied 500 ihp allowing a speed of 9 knots. Colledge called her in contrary to Jane Fighting Ships a dockyard mooring vessel launched on 30 September 1943 at Goole SB, but did not supply what her final fate was. The website www.godfreydykes.info says she was sold in 1970.
