Dutch ship Cladius Civilis homeward bound according to the Dutch newspaper Javasche Courant dated 29 August 1840

An item reported that the Dutch ship Claudius Civilis was destined towards the Netherlands. With a skilled doctor on board. For more details could be asked at the captain at Surabaya or Jan Fermeulen [Jan Ter Meulen jr.?] in Batavia.(1)

With continue pumping they managed to arrive at Mauritius on 13 August where the cargo was unloaded. The newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 23 January 1859 published an item dated Mauritius 3 December reporting that she was condemned in Mauritius and sold there with inventory for 3.000 dollars.
