German merchant ship Lahn trying to escape according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwsblad van het Noorden dated 9 March 1940

An item reported that the German merchant ship Lahn loaded with a cargo of skins, wool and coal left Buenos Ayres. A pilot was requested to cross the mouth of the Plata rivers. Rumours claimed that she was to change courses during the night to escape the allied warships.(1)
