The newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 9 July 1856 published an announcement of the auction on Saturday 19 July at 12.30 o’clock in the tavern Nederlandsche Koffijhuis of J. Zahn at the Marktplein in Dordrecht of the extra ordinary fast in 1854 recoppered and copper fastened Dutch bark ship Sphynx. Captain A.A. Kruisinga. She was lying in the Vlugthaven in Rotterdam. Measurement and dimensions identical to item dated 17 May 1855. The newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 20 June 1874 published a tiding dated Wildervank 17 June that the sale of the Dutch bark ship Sphynx of 263 tonnen built in 1846 for ƒ 10.600 was not executed.
