USA commissioning aged destroyers according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 10 October 1939

An item dated Washington 9 October reported that the US department of Navy decided to commission again 23 destroyers which were decommissioned since the First World War. As a result was the number of aged destroyers increased to 38 units. The ships were used for patrol services in the neutral zones.
