British admiral Limpus now in Russian naval service according to the dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 17 October 1914

An item dated Constantinople 16 October referred to a statement of Tasviri Efkear that the former British commander in chief of the Turkish navy admiral Arthur Henry Limpus B.C. now serving in the Russian Black Sea Fleet. This new appointment  was not well accepted by Turkey and disturbed the relations with England.(1)

1. Arthur Henry Limpus (7 June 1863 St. Neots, Huntingdonshire-3 November 1931 Alassio, Italy), since 20 September 1914 Admiral superintendent of the Malta dockyard on 20 September 1914 in the rank of vice-admiral. He was between 1912 and 1914 appointed as naval adviser for the Turkish government. If he served in the Russian navy I have not bee able to prove.
