Dutch bark ship Dankbaarheid bound for Rotterdam, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Javasche Courant dated 28 October 1840

An item reported that the bark ship Dankbaarheid aan de Nederlandsche Handels Maatschappij captain L. Hus would depart in the end of December Batavia towards Rotterdam. For more details could be asked at the captain in Samaring or at Voute&Guerin in Batavia.(1)

1. The website http://www.scheepsindex.nl/schip.php?i=3399 mentioned that she was built in 1832 at the shipyard De Noord of Cornelis&Jan Smit in Alblasserdam for C. Smit, Alblasserdam, since 1853 property of van Overzee&Co. in Rotterdam but condemned in Mauritius on 19 September that same year while she was leaking.
