South Africa building guided missile patrol vessels according to the Dutch newspaper Nederlands dagblad dated 8 February 1975

An item reported that the South African minister of defence Pieter Botha on the Thursday before stated that his cabinet decided to built her own guided missile coastal patrol vessels in an effort to regain independence from foreign arms suppliers. Within two-three years were the first six boats to be commissioned armed with the latest fast guided missiles.
