Swedish brig Skatan lost according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 24 November 1858

A sea tiding dated Queenstown 20 November reported that the Swedish brig Skatan captain Teulon underway from Girgenti with a cargo of sulphur towards Dordrecht, Netherlands her crew disembarked the sinking two days earlier on the position 49° 48’North latitude and 8° West longitude. The crew was brought in by the ship Galatea.
