Austrian destroyer Komet visit the Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper De Tijd dated 24 November 1888

An item reported the departure a day earlier of the Austrian transport torpedo boat Komet commanded by Reuvers from Nieuwediep via Portsmouth towards Pola.(1) The newspaper De Standaard dated 24 November reported her arrival at Ijmuiden on the 22nd coming from the Nieuwediep.

1. A destroyer with a displacement of 425 tons and as dimensions 58,4 x 7,4 x 3,2 metres launched on 7 July 1888 at Elbing and which was delivered to Italy in 1920 and finally broken up. Her armament consisted of 8-4,7cm quick firing guns and 2-45cm torpedo tubes while her crew numbered 60 men. The horsepower of 2.360 hp allowed a speed of 21 knots.
