Commanding officer of HMS Thrasher reprimanded according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 16 October 1897

An item reported that the council of war at Devonport found the commanding officer of the recently stranded torpedo boat Thrasher guilty and he was seriously reprimanded.(1)

1. This must be the British 395 tons destroyer HMS Thrasher launched at the shipyard of Laird on 5 November 1895 and sold on 4 November 1919 to Fryer. Dimensions 210’ 21.5’. Her armament consisted of 1-12pd gun, 5-6pd guns and 2 torpedo tubes.
