An item referred to the German newspaper Telegraf of Berlin which reported that a large number of East German policemen were killed during an explosion on board of the torpedo boat T 134. Her sinking was caused by two exploding mines on board which she carried with her during the manoeuvres in the Baltic Sea. Another torpedo boat the T 153 which was nearby was heavily damaged by the explosion. According to rumours were the Russian warships which participated in the manoeuvres immediately called back to the Polish harbour Stettin.
